[He can probably hear the click of her heels on the floor, too. She's still dressed in the red silk qipao and black tights that make up the Cloudberry Jam uniform, just with a winter coat on over it. Because some people actually do feel the cold.]

[ He doesn't move from behind the computer he's by, instead just finishing filling out the form he was in the middle of. ]

[ There are some shelves in the way but he's not far in. ]

[Those footsteps move closer, in a steady, uncertain stride. She glances around a little even as she peeks around those shelves to see Yukihina.]

Hey...

[A beat.]

... I don't think I've ever been here before.

[Should she feel bad about that? He might have never visited her restaurant or club either, but it still feels awkward that this is her first visit to this place.]

[ He pauses in his computer-work and gives her a long look. ]

Young lady-man, do you never read?

[ So he might not need to eat, or drink, but that doesn't stop him from visiting food establishments. He takes coffee every lunch break. ]

[Why did he have to put it like that?! Couldn't he have just stuck with 'young lady'?! (Wait, how is that better? Crap, now she's confused...)]

Th-That's not it! I don't... get a lot of time, with everything else...

[She's mostly been reading fashion magazines lately, too. Blame Nonon.]

[ You know Yukihina, Natsuru. It's the way he is. Has to make it confusing and awkward for others, any time he feels like it. ]

Perhaps you should make some time for it. You might learn something.

[And she just had to give him that ammunition. Though she did try her best to hide it... he was just far too perceptive (and experienced) to be fooled.

Oh well, now that he's just lecturing her like usual, she gives a small sigh.]

I guess Veronica-chan would agree...

[He must know her. She's always reading. She'd be surprised if Veronica didn't come here often.]

[ Perhaps she just ought to keep her mouth shut.

He nods. He's aware of who that is. ]

[ He heads for the counter, where he's hidden his photo album from view underneath it. ]

[Huh. He really did call her over here over a photo album.]

Is... there anywhere I should keep it, or...?

[She supposes she could just stick it in a drawer somewhere. Maybe next to that regain coupon she's still waiting to cash in.]

[ He did, yes. He'll call her over to mess with her some other day. ]

Somewhere where Hiyori won't get her hands on it.

[ That's the most important part. ]

[Okay, so stuffing it in a drawer somewhere sounds like a good plan. She doesn't think Hiyori would ever get a chance to look there... if it's who she's thinking of...]

Hiyori... that's the girl that's staying with you, right?

[Maybe he should introduce Natsuru to his daughter sometime. Because that would clearly be a fantastic idea, look at how much they have in common. They're both young. They're both girls. ... More or less.]

[ Hiyori is nosy though which is why he's going through the lengths of making sure it's kept somewhere out of his properties. ]

Yes. She's my youngest daughter.

[ Adopted. Unofficially adopted, even, since they just picked her up and took her in, without filing any papers. But people who don't exist can't really do things like file adoption papers, anyway.

That would be interesting to see, that meeting. ]

[Something about the way he said that gets her attention...]

[She knew you were really old, Yukihina, but somehow she never saw you as a parent!]

[ What's so surprising? ]

Yeah. Me, Kouji, Rui and Seeker adopted her, so she has three and a half dads and half a mom.

[ Yukihina might not be a man all the time, and while Rui was born woman, that kid of theirs (damn that bleedy hearted Kouji) she happened to be identifying as a man more than half the time. Damn gender-fluid child. ]

[This is an unexpected thing for Natsuru, okay? Admittedly, she's probably imagining something much closer to 'normal' than Yukihina actually means.]

That must be tough, being the only mom.

[She... assumes. Why else would he say 'half'?]

[ Yukihina gives her a long look of "are you serious?" because seriously? What makes her think that a family that he's part of would seem that close to normal? ]

[ He flips through the album and finds a spread. ]
